How we ranked nine air fryers without cooking in them

We read each Shopee PH listing and looked up who is behind each brand in the Philippines. We checked the published specs (basket size, wattage, controls, warranty) and the Shopee owner ratings, including how many people left them. We have not cooked with these units.

Two things moved a fryer up: a brand selling from its own store, and a published wattage. Both are things you can check before you pay. Every price on this page is the listing price on the day we checked it, and the date sits next to it.

Which air fryer brands have real support in the Philippines?

For most homes we’d buy Midea. Midea is a large Chinese appliance maker, and in the Philippines it is part of Concepcion Industrial Corporation, whose SureServe team handles repairs and finds you a service center. The Midea 5.5L listing states a one-year warranty on parts and labor.

Two more brands on this list sell through shops under their own name and have a long history here:

1. Imarflex is a Japanese brand that a local distributor, Evergood, has sold in the Philippines since 1973.
2. Astron is Filipino-owned, run by G8 Marketing, and has sold appliances under the Astron name since 2008.

Gaabor, OOKAS and Simplus are online-first brands sold across Southeast Asia, mostly through their own Shopee and Lazada shops. Gaabor and OOKAS carry thousands of owner ratings between them, which is real evidence that the fryers work. We could not find a service network for any of the three, so a warranty claim goes through the shop.

Why we dropped the “Electrolux” 9L, and how to spot one like it

Until October 24, 2026, our budget pick on this page was a 9L fryer sold on Shopee as the Electrolux AF899D. We removed it. The same model number is listed as Philips, as “ENOLUX” and with no brand at all, and neither Electrolux nor Philips lists it on its Philippine website. It is a generic fryer with a big name printed on it.

Four checks catch most of these before you pay:

1. Look up the model number on the brand’s own Philippine website. If it isn’t there, the brand probably didn’t make it.
2. Search the model number. If it shows up under several brand names, it is a generic unit.
3. Buy from the brand’s own store. On this list, the Midea, Imarflex, Astron and Gaabor picks all come from a shop named after the brand.
4. Be careful when a big brand sells for a fraction of what its other models cost. That price gap is the clearest sign.

Why the lowest cost per litre can mislead

Capacity is what most people are really paying for, so it helps to divide the price by the litres you get. Every figure below is the listing price on the day we checked it.

Three of the nine need a note before you read that column. The Imarflex CVO-308DFR is an oven, so its 30 L is shelf space you load trays into, not a basket you fill: its ₱340 is not the same litre as everyone else’s. The Gaabor 4L bundle ships with a 1.8L rice cooker, so part of that ₱637 buys a second appliance. And the Gaabor 8-Preset is one listing sold in six sizes, from 2L to 8L, so there is no single figure to quote: around ₱1,049 as of October 24, 2026 buys a different basket depending on the size you pick.

The OOKAS gives you the cheapest litre on the page, from a listing that publishes no wattage. The Midea costs four times as much per litre and is still our pick for most homes, because you also pay for a published 2050W element, the brand’s own store, and a service network you can call. Read the column as “how much basket am I getting”, not as a ranking.

Does the 2050W Midea cost much more to run?

Air fryers look power-hungry on the box and are cheap in practice, because they only run for 10 to 20 minutes. At Meralco’s October 2026 residential rate of about ₱15.06 per kWh, here is a 20-minute session at full rated power, and a month of five sessions a week.

These are the most each fryer can cost, since the element switches off and on once the basket is hot. The whole spread is about ₱136 a month, which is less than the price gap between most picks on this list. So don’t choose on wattage to save money. Choose on it for speed: with about half the power, expect the 800W Gaabor to take longer to heat than the 1450W fryers, and the 2050W Midea has the most power here. Three picks are missing from the table on purpose. The OOKAS 7L, the Gaabor 8-Preset and the Gaabor bundle do not state a wattage on their listings, and we will not print a number we cannot source.

Thousands of ratings back the Gaabor and OOKAS scores

Most of the Shopee ratings on this list sit on two listings. The Gaabor 4L Multi-Functional and the OOKAS 7L each have thousands. Both Imarflex fryers have a few dozen, and the Midea a little over a hundred.

A perfect 5.0 from a few dozen people and a 4.8 from thousands are not the same evidence, even though the 5.0 looks better. One bad batch would move the first number and barely dent the second. So where the count is in the thousands, treat the score as settled. Where it is in the dozens, treat it as an early signal and lean harder on the brand and the shop. That is part of why the Midea leads the list on a smaller count: a brand store with a service network behind it carries the weight that a small sample cannot.

Three listings skip the wattage, and two Gaabors use a dial

No wattage on three listings: the OOKAS 7L, the Gaabor 8-Preset and the Gaabor bundle don’t publish one, so how fast they heat is a guess until you own one. The Gaabor 8-Preset is the hardest to judge, because its wattage changes with the size you order.

Dial controls on two: the Gaabor 4L and the Gaabor 8-Preset use a manual knob. That is fine for reheating and fries, but you can’t set an exact 165°C the way you can on the Midea, the Astron, the Simplus or either Imarflex.

The Astron’s 4.6 is the lowest Shopee rating on this list, from a small number of owners. It isn’t a reason to skip it, but it is part of why it ranks where it does.

Keep-warm and a pull-out drip tray, worth checking on any listing

Three are worth checking on any listing. A non-stick basket makes cleaning much easier, so skip models with a thin or patchy coating. A keep-warm setting helps when the family eats at different times. And a removable drip tray catches oil and stops the fryer smoking, as long as it pulls out easily for washing.
