C.District C22 Pro Coffee GrinderA ₱14,000 on-demand espresso grinder with 64mm flat burrs, the size where home grinders start behaving like café ones. ✗ Cons
- A grinder only, with limited specs stated on the listing
The C.District C22 Pro is a ₱14,000 on-demand espresso grinder with 64mm flat burrs. At this price the grinder matters more than your machine does, and that is not a figure of speech: a ₱6,000 espresso machine with a good grinder beats a ₱30,000 machine with a bad one every time. Our honest catch is that the listing publishes very little beyond the burr size.
Why do 64mm flat burrs matter for espresso?
Espresso is unforgiving about grind consistency. Water takes the path of least resistance through the puck, so if your grinder produces a mix of coarse and fine particles, the water channels through the coarse patches and the shot comes out both sour and bitter at once. Bigger flat burrs cut more uniformly and heat the beans less on the way through, which is what makes a shot repeatable day to day.
64mm is the size where home grinders start behaving like café ones. Most sub-₱10,000 grinders use 40mm to 58mm conical burrs, which are fine for filter coffee and inconsistent for espresso. Note that C.District also sell a plain C22 with smaller burrs, so if you are buying this one, make sure the listing you order says the 64mm version.
What does on-demand dosing change?
You grind straight into the portafilter, only what you need, instead of grinding into a hopper and dosing from stale grounds. Coffee starts losing aromatics within minutes of grinding, so grinding per shot is the single biggest freshness gain available to a home setup.
What the listing does not tell you
At ₱14,000, we would want the motor wattage, the burr RPM, grind retention in grams, and the adjustment mechanism (stepped or stepless), and none of it is published. Retention especially: a grinder that holds two grams of old coffee between shots will taste stale no matter how good the burrs are. Ask the seller before you commit this much.
Is the C.District C22 Pro sulit?
Around ₱14,000 as of August 20, 2026. Frame it per shot rather than as a lump. If you pull one espresso a day and it lasts five years, which is modest for flat burrs since they outlast the motor, that is under ₱8 a shot. A café flat white in Metro Manila runs ₱150 to ₱190. The grinder pays for itself inside three months of your usual habit, and everything after that is free.
Who the C.District C22 Pro suits
Buy this if you already own a decent espresso machine and your shots are inconsistent, because the grinder is almost certainly why. Do not buy it as your first coffee purchase. See the machines it pairs with in our best espresso coffee makers roundup, and our coffee maker buying guide covers where grinder and machine money is best spent.
If the C.District C22 Pro is not right
If you have not bought a machine yet, spend here last: the HiBREW H10B is a capable ₱7,100 starting point. For a full commercial-style setup, the Gemilai 3006 espresso machine sits at the other end of the range.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why buy a separate grinder?
Fresh, evenly ground coffee is the biggest single factor in espresso quality. A dedicated 64mm burr grinder like this gives a more consistent grind than cheap blade grinders or pre-ground coffee.
What does on-demand mean?
It grinds fresh straight into your portafilter each time, rather than storing pre-ground coffee, which keeps the flavor fresher.
Does it brew coffee too?
No. This is a grinder only. You pair it with a separate espresso machine.
