What makes it worth the premium?

Two things, and they work together. Smart Inverter is the important one. A normal microwave has a single power level and fakes lower settings by pulsing on and off, which is why defrosted meat comes out cooked at the corners. LG’s inverter holds a genuine lower power the whole time, so frozen chicken thaws evenly, a milk-based sauce reheats without splitting, and fish stays flaky rather than rubbery.

The 950W quartz grill adds what most microwaves can’t do at all: browning. Baked macaroni gets a crust, cheese melts and colors, reheated pizza comes back crisp instead of limp. It browns the top only, so treat it as a finishing tool rather than an oven replacement.

Full power is 1000W microwave, and on combi (microwave plus grill) it draws 1450W. The 292mm turntable spins a wide dinner plate, which the 255mm budget units can’t.

Is it easy to live with?

The touch-and-dial panel is a better design than either alone. Touch for presets, a dial for setting time and power quickly, so you’re not tapping a number key eight times. Small thing, noticed daily.

The EasyClean interior is LG’s non-stick cavity coating, and it does what it says: splatters wipe off without scrubbing. On a microwave that gets used every day, that’s more valuable than another preset.

The limitation is size. At 25L this is a mid-size cavity, smaller than the 30L Midea and the 34L Sharp, both of which cost less. You are paying for how it cooks, not how much it holds.
