What is it for?

The jobs a full-size bakedish is too big for. One litre is a side of baked vegetables, a small gratin, a portion of pasta, or last night’s leftovers going back into the oven. What are the limits?

Capacity, obviously: 1L is a side dish, so a main for a family means the 3L CROY316 or a second dish. There is no lid, so it will not seal for fridge storage or carrying. And the walls are shallow, which means a bubbling, saucy dish can boil over more easily than it would in something deeper. Keep the wet recipes for a taller dish.
