PETKIT Pura smart litter box review: sensor-run deodorizer, manual scooping

The PETKIT Pura smart litter box targets one problem: smell. It is a manual litter box with PETKIT’s motion-sensored, air-purifying deodorizer built around it, using an infrared sensor to treat the air the moment your cat uses the box. It costs around ₱5,900 as of August 12, 2026, the same as the White Villa.

What “smart” means here, and what it does not

Worth being blunt, because the listing name invites confusion: this box does not scoop itself. The intelligence is entirely in the odor control. You will still be scooping daily, exactly as with any manual tray.

What you get instead is odor handled at the source and on a schedule. PETKIT’s Pura Air technology uses an infrared sensor to detect a cat entering and leaving, then runs the deodorizer on approach, which is precisely when odor is released. It also runs a timed cycle through the day so the air keeps being treated between visits.

A plant-based filter for the smell, while you keep scooping daily

It depends on which problem is actually bothering you. If your complaint is the daily scoop, this is the wrong product and you should be looking at the Pura X. If your complaint is that a small condo smells like a litter box no matter how diligently you scoop, this addresses that directly and cheaply.

The plant-based compound filter is a reasonable choice for something sitting where your cat breathes, rather than a chemical spray.

Large cat? Ask for the inside dimensions first

A fair amount, and it matters. PETKIT publishes no dimensions and no cat weight limit under this listing name, where the White Villa states an 8kg limit and full measurements. If you have a large cat, you cannot check that it fits before ordering. We are not going to guess at numbers from a related product. Ask the seller for internal dimensions first.

The filter cartridges are also a proprietary consumable with no published replacement interval on this listing.

Odor control for the same money as the White Villa

At around ₱5,900 as of August 12, 2026, it is priced identically to the White Villa, which offers a grated anti-tracking doorway, a published weight limit, full dimensions, and an included scoop and brush, but no deodorizing. That is the actual choice: better documented hardware, or built-in odor control. For a small condo where smell is the daily complaint, this is the right side of that trade.

Small homes where litter smell is the main worry

Buy this if litter box odor in a small space is your main problem, you are content to keep scooping, and your cat is average sized. It is our Best Odor Control pick in the best cat litter boxes in the Philippines roundup.

Less litter tracked out with the PETKIT White Villa

For the same money with better-documented hardware and a grated doorway that cuts litter tracking, the PETKIT White Villa is our Best Overall pick. If you would rather solve odor with a separate device on a box you already own, the Rojeco 4000mAh smart cat odor purifier does that job for far less.
