The Gold Star Intelligence is our Best dual wattage pick: it switches between 6,500W and 3,500W, so one heater can suit either strong or ordinary household wiring, with self-modulating heat at around ₱1,400.

Why the switch is the best feature here

Most people shopping this category do not realise that wattage is an electrical decision before it is a comfort one.

At 6,500W an instant heater draws about 29.5 amps at 220V, needing a dedicated breaker and thick wire. At 3,500W it draws about 15 amps, which is what ordinary Philippine bathroom wiring is far more likely to carry. That is the same rating Panasonic uses on its DH-3VS1PW, our Best Overall pick.

Nearly every budget heater on Shopee PH is fixed at 6,500W, which means buyers with older wiring either trip breakers, or run a load their circuit was not built for.

This one lets you choose. Set it to 3,500W and it works on wiring that would refuse a 6,500W unit. Upgrade the circuit later and switch it up. At ₱1,400 that flexibility is genuinely valuable, and it is why this ranks above units that only do one thing.

The self-modulating heat is the second useful piece: it adjusts output as flow changes, so the temperature holds steadier when someone opens a tap elsewhere in the house. On instant heaters, that pressure-drop surprise is the most common complaint there is.

What is missing?

The same things missing from every heater in this price band, and they are worth repeating rather than glossing over.

No published IP rating. This is a wet room, and IP25 is the figure Panasonic and Midea both publish. Here there is nothing.

No published ELCB or earth leakage protection. This is the important one. An ELCB trips on leakage as small as 30mA and, in a Philippine home where grounding is often unreliable, it is frequently the only real protection.

No published warranty period.

None of that makes the heater unusable. It shifts the responsibility to you: have an electrician fit an RCD or ELCB at the panel, confirm the ground, and size the breaker to whichever wattage setting you plan to run. That is a real cost, and it should be part of the budget rather than an afterthought.

Is the Gold Star Intelligence sulit?

Around ₱1,400 as of August 27, 2026. Check the latest price on Shopee, and note it is the same price as Gold Star’s own Premium model.

That makes the internal comparison the interesting one. The Premium has far deeper feedback: 9,435 raters against this one’s 565. This one has the dual wattage and self-modulating heat.

Our view is that if your wiring is unknown or old, which is common in older Philippine houses, the switchable wattage is worth more than the extra reviews, because it is the feature that determines whether the heater works safely at all. If you already know your circuit is rated for 30 amps, the Premium’s 9,435-rating track record is the safer bet.

Who the Gold Star Intelligence suits

Buy this if you do not know what your bathroom circuit can carry, or you know it is limited, and you want a cheap heater that can work either way. It is the right choice for an older home, a rented place where rewiring is not an option, or anyone who wants the flexibility to upgrade the circuit later. If your wiring is already heavy-duty, the Premium model has six times the owner feedback at the same price.

If the Gold Star Intelligence is not right
