How long does it actually last?

Runtime is the spec that matters in an emergency light, and this is where the Omni wins. Its 12V 9.0Ah sealed lead acid battery is roughly twice the capacity of the 6V packs in most units at this price, which buys 8 hours with both 3W lamps running, or 14 hours on a single lamp.

Put that against the alternatives: the far brighter Akari AELG-L420 taps out at 3 hours. A four-hour Meralco outage is common enough in a lot of the country, and that’s the difference between a light that lasts the evening and one that dies before power returns.

Is it bright enough?

Be realistic: 2x3W is room lighting, not floodlighting. Omni rates it to illuminate above 1 lux, which in plain terms means you can move around safely, cook, find things, and keep the kids from panicking. You would not comfortably read a book across the room by it.

That’s a deliberate trade. Wattage and runtime pull against each other on a fixed battery, and Omni spent its 9Ah on endurance instead of brightness. For a brownout light, we think that’s the right call.

Is it safe to leave plugged in?

Yes, and that’s how it’s meant to live. It has overcharge protection and is fuse protected, so it can sit on charge year-round waiting for the one night you need it. It switches on automatically the moment power cuts, so there’s no hunting for a button in the dark.

Two honest catches. Charging takes up to 48 hours from empty, the slowest here, so if outages come back-to-back it may not be topped up. And sealed lead acid is heavy and has a finite life: expect to replace the battery after a few years, which is normal for the type but worth knowing.

Is it sulit?

Around ₱2,800 as of July 30, 2026. Check the latest price on Shopee. It’s the most expensive of our four picks, and what the extra money buys is the big battery. Against the ₱1,100 Greenfield you’re paying about ₱1,700 more for roughly double the wattage and a properly protected charging circuit.

Buy this if brownouts in your area last more than a couple of hours and you want one light that reliably carries the whole outage.
