Auto tracking keeps a child in view once they move

It will not wake you when the baby cries

Think of the E1 as a very good nursery camera rather than a full baby monitor.

Can a toddler reach the shelf it sits on?

Two things. Reolink sells several E1 revisions at different resolutions under the same name, so check the variant. And the compact body is easy for a toddler to pull off a shelf, so mount it high or put it well out of reach.
