What does the second lens actually buy you?

The ability to stop choosing.

A single-lens pan-and-tilt camera can look anywhere, one direction at a time. That sounds fine until you use one. Point it at the front door and it stops covering the room. Send it sweeping and the door is uncovered whenever it is looking elsewhere.

Two lenses removes the trade. The fixed lens holds the wide view permanently, and the pan-and-tilt lens follows movement or goes wherever you send it from the app. For a sari-sari store watching a till and a doorway, or a home watching a room and a stairwell, that is a genuinely different tool from a single-lens camera at the same price.

Add the usual bulb-camera advantage on top: it screws into an E27 socket, so there is no drilling, no bracket and no cable down the wall.

What does the listing not tell you?

More than it should.

V380 states 1080P, 360 degree rotation, night-vision light, two-way audio and motion detection. What it does not publish is a field of view, a night-vision range, a codec, a frame rate or a warranty.

That is a real gap next to the IMOU in this roundup, which publishes all of those. And the resolution is the honest weak point: 1080P per lens against 5MP on the IMOU means you will see that a person crossed the room, not who they were.

The ceiling angle compounds it. Looking down from a light fitting, you get the tops of heads. Bulb cameras are for knowing something happened and where, not for identifying a face.

Where the value argument gets harder is against the single-lens 5MP options. The Hamrol at around ₱949 is cheaper and sharper, with one lens instead of two. So the question is simple: do you need two views, or one better one?

The night-vision light ring giving color footage after dark rather than infrared grey is a genuine plus at this price.

Who the V380 SQ005 Pro suits

Buy this if one room genuinely has two things worth watching: a doorway and a work area, a till and an aisle, a stairwell and a living room. It is the right choice when coverage matters more than image quality, and the ceiling socket makes it a ten-minute install. If you would rather have one sharp view than two soft ones, buy a 5MP single-lens camera instead.
