Why does keeping the light matter?

Because in every other camera in this category, it is a hidden cost nobody mentions in the listing.

The pitch for a bulb camera is that your ceiling already has power in it. What the pitch skips is that the socket only does one job at a time. Screw in a normal bulb camera and the room loses that light permanently. In a bedroom with one ceiling fitting, or a hallway, or a small shop, that is a genuine problem, and people discover it after the camera is already up.
