What does Ra95 actually get you?

Color rendering scores how true colors look under a light, out of 100. Ra95 is the top of what consumer lamps reach, and it’s the highest figure in our desk-lamp picks alongside the Baseus Smart Eye.

In practice it matters if you work with color: painting, drawing, photo editing, make-up, checking fabric. For reading and homework, Ra90 already looks natural, and the step up is hard to notice. Be honest with yourself about which you’re doing before paying for it.

The 112 LED modules are the other half. Spreading output across that many emitters in a wide bar means light lands evenly across the desk instead of forming a hot spot, so nothing to squint into.

What are the catches?

Two, and they’re real. It’s the most expensive lamp in our picks, and it’s mains powered only, so it does nothing during a brownout, unlike lamps costing a tenth as much.

Xiaomi also doesn’t publish a luminous flux figure for this model, which is odd given how thoroughly it documents the 1S. You get 10W and Ra95 but no lumens, so you can’t compare its brightness numerically with the 500 lm Lite or the 520 lm 1S.

With 50 owner ratings, it also has far less feedback behind it than the long-running 1S.
