Xiaomi Multi-function Flashlight review: one light, five jobs

It’s the most versatile light here, and it comes from a brand that documents its own specs.

What makes it multi-function?

Three light sources in one body, effectively. The main beam does 1,000 lumens with a telescopic zoom that slides from a 240m spotlight to a wide flood, so the same torch works for spotting something down the road and for lighting a workspace. The side panel light is the clever part: a soft strip you can stand on end to light a room like a small lantern, which is exactly what a brownout calls for and exactly what a thrower beam is bad at.

Then there are the emergency modes. Strobe, SOS, and a red safety light. Red is the one people underrate: at a roadside breakdown it’s visible to oncoming traffic without dazzling the driver, and it preserves your night vision.

Is it bright enough?

The gap in Xiaomi’s own documentation is runtime. There’s a stated 10-day standby, but no per-mode table like Sofirn publishes, so how long an hour of high beam costs you is unstated.

How well is it built?

An aluminum alloy body rated IPX5, which handles rain and water jets but is not submersible. That’s a real step below the IPX8 on our Best Overall pick, and it’s the main thing to weigh if you’ll be out in a serious downpour or near floodwater.

Charging is USB-C with power bank output, so it puts charge back into a phone during a long outage. Combined with the roughly 10-day standby, it’s a light that works when you finally reach for it.

Buy this if you want one light that covers brownouts, roadside emergencies, and general use without carrying three things: the panel light for the house, the beam for outside, the red mode for the highway.
