A UV sterilizing cabinet is sold as a health product and bought, in practice, as a covered dish rack. Both framings are fair. Here is what to check before you spend on one.

What can UV light actually do?

Worth being precise, because this is the claim the whole category rests on.

Ultraviolet light in the UVC band disrupts the DNA of bacteria and viruses on the surfaces it illuminates. That works, and it works quickly.
