Gold Star Seiko Visual 16L air fryer review

At around ₱1,300 as of August 19, 2026 for a stated 16L. Two words on that listing need examining before the price does.

Inverter cannot mean anything here

An inverter varies the frequency supplied to a motor or compressor so it can run at part speed instead of switching fully on and off. That is why the word means something real on an aircon, a fridge or a washing machine: there is a compressor or a motor to modulate, and modulating it saves electricity.

An air fryer has neither. It heats with a resistive element, which is a wire that gets hot when current passes through it, and moves air with a small fan. There is nothing for an inverter to do.

Some appliances use the word loosely for a control that varies heat or fan speed. That may be what is meant. What it cannot be is the efficiency technology the word implies elsewhere in an appliance aisle.

Sixteen litres is a chamber, not a portion

Air frying works by moving hot air around each piece of food. Stack the basket and the pieces in the middle steam instead of crisping.

So the usable capacity of any air fryer is roughly a single layer on the floor of the basket, and the litre figure describes the volume of the chamber above it. A 16L unit at this price is almost certainly an oven-style fryer with racks rather than a deep basket, which changes how you use it: racks let you cook on two levels, and the food still has to be spread out.

The practical question is not litres. It is how much floor area there is, and whether it will hold a whole chicken or a tray of wings in one layer.

The missing wattage is the missing running cost

Air fryers draw somewhere between 1,300W and 1,700W, and that number is what tells you what cooking costs.

At Meralco rates of roughly ₱12 to ₱13 a kilowatt-hour, a 1,700W fryer running twenty minutes uses about 0.57 kWh, which is around ₱7. A larger chamber takes longer to heat and holds more air to keep hot, so a 16L unit will draw more over a session than a 4L one.

That is still far cheaper than heating a full-size oven for an hour, which is the real comparison and the honest case for owning one.

Who the Seiko 16L suits

Buy this if you want a large oven-style chamber cheaply, you have the counter space, and you have asked what it draws.

Skip it if you are buying the word inverter, or expecting sixteen litres of food.
