Kitchen Boss 9-piece measuring cup and spoon set review

Nine pieces at around ₱169 as of August 19, 2026, with a 4.9 rating from 190 Shopee ratings. The set does the job. The shelf around it is the issue.

A cheaper nine-piece sits right beside it

The Eurochef MT019 9-piece cup and spoon set is around ₱148 on the same date, with 2,193 Shopee ratings and a 5.0 average.

Same piece count, less money, and more than ten times the buying history. Neither listing names a material, neither states a millilitre volume, and neither gives individual sizes, so there is nothing on paper that explains the gap.

That does not mean the Kitchen Boss set is worse. It means the burden of proof sits on the photos, and you should look at them before paying more.

What to look for when the text tells you nothing

Three things that are visible in listing images even when the description is empty.

Flat, unrolled rims. A dry cup only measures correctly if a knife can sweep straight across it. A curved or rolled lip turns levelling into a guess.

Handles that will not flex. Press a knife across a cup with a bendy handle and you get a different amount each time.

Stamped rather than printed size marks. Printed numbers wash off within a year, and an unmarked nested cup is one you have to identify by eye every time.

If the Kitchen Boss images look better on those three than the cheaper set does, the extra money is buying something real.

Nine pieces is the right count

Four or five cups and four or five spoons covers the whole vocabulary most recipes use, and it means both halves of the job are handled: bulk ingredients in cups, and the leaveners and salt that actually decide whether a bake works in spoons.

Buying cups alone and improvising spoons with cutlery is the usual false economy in this category.

Buy this if the photos show a heavier build than the cheaper nine-piece alternative, or you are ordering other things from the same shop and a single delivery is worth the difference.

Otherwise buy the cheaper nine-piece and spend the difference elsewhere.
