The Kyowa K3710 is the cheapest griller in this list at around ₱900, and the only one with a crystal glass plate and push-button preset controls. At 1400W it is also better powered than its price suggests.

How well does it cook?

1400W into a glass plate behaves differently from steel or non-stick. Glass heats more evenly and holds heat once it is up, so it is forgiving with marinated meats that would catch and burn on a hot metal surface. It also takes longer to get up to temperature, so give it a few minutes before the first batch.

The preset and manual modes are unusual at this price. Presets take the guesswork out for common items; manual lets you override when you know what you want.

What is it like to live with?

A glass cooking surface wipes clean far more easily than a non-stick plate, and there is no coating to scratch off, which removes the usual worry about metal tongs. The flip side is fragility: glass is glass, so do not drop a heavy pan or a frozen block on it, and let it cool before washing.
