Masflex 250ml glass measuring cup review

A 250ml glass jug at around ₱450 as of August 19, 2026. At this size, that number needs explaining.

The Eurochef 250ml borosilicate glass measuring cup is around ₱232 on the same date, and its listing states borosilicate where this one states glass.

So the cheaper jug is also the better-specified one. Borosilicate expands very little when heated and survives a temperature change that can crack ordinary soda-lime glass, which is the single most useful property a measuring jug can have.

Masflex is a long-established cookware name in the Philippines, and brand and retail presence are worth something. On the listings alone, though, the case for paying nearly double at the same capacity is thin.

Why a small jug is worth owning anyway

Liquid is read against a line on the side, and precision depends on how wide the vessel is. In a litre jug a millimetre of height covers a lot of millilitres, so 50ml there is an estimate. In a 250ml jug the same amount sits a fifth of the way up a narrow body and is easy to read.

That is the argument for a small jug even when you already own a large one, and it is why plenty of kitchens end up with both.

Two hundred and fifty is a metric cup

There is no universal cup. A US customary cup is about 237ml, the US labelling cup is 240ml, a metric cup is 250ml and a Japanese cup is 200ml.

Most recipes online are American, so their cup is a few percent smaller than this jug’s 250ml mark. In a sauce that is invisible. In bread, where the water-to-flour ratio decides the dough, several cups of a few percent each adds up.

The glass question, stated plainly

Nothing on this listing says borosilicate. Since several jugs in this category do say it, the fair reading is that this one is ordinary glass.

Keep boiling liquid out of it, let hot things cool a moment before pouring, and do not move it straight from a hot tap to cold water. Do that and glass lasts indefinitely.

Who should buy the Masflex

Buy this if you want a Masflex product specifically, you like the finish, and hot liquids are not part of what you measure.

Skip it if you are comparing on specification. A better-described jug at the same capacity costs around half.
