Settle the size before anything else

Work the arithmetic and the ambiguity mostly resolves itself. A 5kg bag at that price would be about ₱43 a kilo, which is less than half the cheapest kibble on this page and around a quarter of what the brand charges for its own 1kg bags. Nothing in this catalog is close to it.

So the figure almost certainly refers to the 1kg, which would put it at roughly ₱215 a kilo. That is the dearest rung on this brand’s ladder, above the raw chunks recipe and below only the urinary formula.

What a raw coating is doing

Raw-coated means the finished kibble is dusted or sprayed with freeze-dried meat rather than having it mixed in as separate pieces. The coating ends up on the outside of every biscuit, which is precisely where a cat’s nose meets it.

Cats select food by smell more than by anything else, so putting the aromatic part on the surface is a sensible bit of engineering. As a way of getting a reluctant cat to eat, it is one of the more effective things on this shelf.
