Simplee Serpentina 500mg review: most popular, with a caveat

Simplee Serpentina is the most-rated herbal capsule in this list by an enormous margin: more than ten thousand owner ratings at 4.8. It’s also the product where we have to be most careful about what we tell you.

The caveat first

In 2024 the Philippine FDA issued a public health warning (Advisory 2024-1767) against Simplee Supplements Sambong 500 mg (60 Capsules), confirming it was not registered and had no Certificate of Product Registration.

That advisory names Sambong, not Serpentina. We found a separate indication that the Serpentina product is registered as a food supplement with no approved therapeutic claim. But a flagged sibling from the same brand is a reason to verify this specific variant yourself before buying, not to assume.

We dropped the Sambong product from our catalog entirely rather than link to it. We’ve kept Serpentina, with this caveat attached, because the advisory doesn’t cover it.

Serpentina (Andrographis paniculata) at a stated 500 mg per capsule, 60 capsules to a bottle. It’s a single-herb formula, which we prefer to the five-botanical blends elsewhere in this list: you know what you’re taking and how much.

It’s a food supplement, so it carries no approved therapeutic claim and is not a treatment for any illness. We won’t tell you what it does, because we haven’t tested it and nobody selling it is permitted to claim it either.

What does the rating actually tell you?

More than ten thousand ratings is genuinely a lot, and it’s the strongest volume signal in this category. But be clear about what it measures: satisfaction with a purchase, not a health outcome. People rate whether the bottle arrived, whether it looked legitimate, and whether they felt good about it. That’s useful information about the seller. It is not clinical evidence.

Who should buy it

Buy this if you already know serpentina, you want a single-herb capsule rather than a blend, and you’re willing to verify the registration first. It’s the right choice for a familiar herb at a low price. If regulatory certainty matters more to you, buy a registered medicine like the lagundi capsules instead.
