A work light goes where an emergency light can’t: under a car, inside a cabinet, behind furniture. Here’s how the most popular work lights on Shopee Philippines compare, and which lumen claims are actually worth trusting.

Published brightness and runtime

We compared published brightness, runtime, battery capacity, mounting options, and charging methods, then weighed each against its price. Specs come from manufacturer data where a brand publishes it (SUPERFIRE consistently does); where a brand states nothing, or states a figure we don’t believe, we say so in the review. New to these? Start with our work light buying guide.

The finding that shaped this roundup: lumen claims in this category are frequently not credible. We found a 10W COB light claiming 3,000 lumens, when SUPERFIRE, a brand that publishes verified specs, rates its own similarly sized 10W panel at 800lm. A number nearly four times a documented rival’s at the same wattage is marketing, not a spec, and we’ve called it out directly rather than repeat it.

Which of these state a real lumen figure?

A stated lumen figure you can sanity-check against similar wattage, not a bare “super bright.” Runtime decides whether it lasts your job or your outage; several lights here don’t publish one at all. Mounting (magnet, hook, or both) is what makes a light actually useful hands-free rather than something you hold. And be honest about what kind of light you need: a compact COB panel for close work, a searchlight for distance, or a hand-crank light as backup insurance when everything else has run flat.

Lights for working in the dark

SUPERFIRE G25 wins Best Overall at around ₱919: a published 800lm COB plus a 250lm spot, up to 10 hours runtime, and power bank output. The Orashare OL26 is Best Value at around ₱419, claiming the same 800lm with a magnetic mount and the largest order history in the category. The SUPERFIRE G21 wins Best Mounting Options with a hook, magnet, and nail bracket. HaixnFire’s BL01 keychain light is Best Always-On-You, cheap enough to carry permanently. The SUPERFIRE YJ03 is Best for Total Outages, charging by hand crank when everything else has run flat, and the SUPERFIRE G16-S is Best for Roadside Use with red hazard-warning modes. Two larger area lights round out the list: the SUPERFIRE FS19-B takes Best Solar at around ₱549, a 36W panel with a 6,000mAh battery, an IP54 rating and a solar cell that tops it up during a multi-day outage, and the Smiling Shark YJ5805 is Best Freestanding at around ₱3,300, the only one here that raises itself to working height on a telescoping tripod.

We also reviewed but did not rank the HaixnFire H11, the Smiling Shark ST5123, the HaixnFire W103 (whose claimed 3,000 lumens we do not believe), and Orashare’s own OL23, which its sibling the OL26 beats on price.

All prices are as of July 31, 2026.

Pros and cons of our top picks

  1. 1SUPERFIRE G25 foldable COB work light with magnet base and USB-C port

SUPERFIRE G25 10W Foldable COB+XPE Work Light with Power Bank

    ✓ Pros

    • Two light sources in one: an 800lm COB flood plus a 250lm spot
    • SUPERFIRE publishes real lumen figures instead of a marketing number

    ✗ Cons

    • 800 lumens lights a work area, not a whole room
    • Using it as a power bank eats the runtime you were saving for light
  2. 2Orashare OL26 magnetic COB work light with solar panel

Orashare OL26 Magnetic COB Work Light 3600mAh Rechargeable

    ✓ Pros

    • Cheapest pick here and by far the best seller, with 9K+ orders behind it
    • 800 lumens matches the SUPERFIRE G25's COB output for under half the price

    ✗ Cons

    • No published runtime, so you cannot tell how long 800 lumens actually lasts
    • Solar on a panel this small is a trickle, not a real charging method
  3. 3SUPERFIRE G21 COB work light with hanging hook and magnetic base

SUPERFIRE G21 10W COB Work Light with Magnet and Hook

    ✓ Pros

    • Three mounting options, so it hangs, sticks, or sits on a wall bracket
    • Battery level display tells you the charge before you crawl under a car

    ✗ Cons

    • No published lumen figure, unlike SUPERFIRE's own G25
    • No published runtime either, so working time is a guess
  4. 4HaixnFire BL01 mini COB keychain work light, shown with keyring

HaixnFire BL01 Mini COB Work Light Rechargeable Keychain Flashlight

    ✓ Pros

    • Cheapest light here, small enough to live on a keyring permanently
    • COB strip throws a usable flood rather than a pinpoint beam

    ✗ Cons

    • No published lumens, runtime, or battery capacity at all
    • Keychain size means a small cell, so expect short working time
  5. 5SUPERFIRE YJ03 hand-crank and solar emergency work light with folding handle

SUPERFIRE YJ03 Hand-Crank and Solar Emergency Work Light 1W

    ✓ Pros

    • Hand crank means it works with a flat battery, no mains, and no sun
    • Three ways to charge, so it never becomes useless in a long outage

    ✗ Cons

    • 1W is a tenth the power of the 10W picks, so judge it on resilience not brightness
    • Costs nearly double a 10W work light while producing far less light
  6. 6SUPERFIRE G16-S folding work light with LED spot and side COB panel

SUPERFIRE G16-S 10W LED and COB Work Light 360 Degree Magnetic

    ✓ Pros

    • Red and red-flash modes make it a roadside warning light as well as a work light
    • 360 degree rotation aims the beam without moving the magnet

    ✗ Cons

    • 700 lumens is less than the cheaper G25 puts out at 800
    • Costs more than the G25 while running half as long on low
  7. 7SUPERFIRE FS19-B 36W solar rechargeable LED work light in orange with folding stand, LED panel and rear solar panel

SUPERFIRE FS19-B 36W Solar Rechargeable LED Work Light

    ✓ Pros

    • Solar panel on the back tops it up with no mains power, useful in a long outage
    • 6,000mAh battery, the largest in our work-light picks

    ✗ Cons

    • No lumen figure published, so its brightness cannot be compared directly
    • No runtime table, only the battery capacity to reason from
  8. 8Smiling Shark YJ5805 rechargeable COB work lamp on a telescoping tripod stand with carry handle

Smiling Shark YJ5805 Rechargeable COB Work Lamp with Stand

    ✓ Pros

    • Telescoping tripod stand raises the light to working height, hands free
    • Folds flat with a carry handle, so it stores and travels easily

    ✗ Cons

    • A 5,000 lumen claim on a COB panel is well above what the format realistically produces
    • No runtime figure and no battery capacity published

Frequently Asked Questions

How many lumens does a work light need?

Around 700–800lm from a COB panel comfortably lights a car engine bay, a cabinet interior, or a small repair area. Under 400lm is fine for finding your way around, not for working. Above 1,000lm is genuinely bright, and any claim well beyond that from a light in this size and price class is worth doubting.

Why do lumen claims vary so wildly between similar-looking lights?

Because many sellers inflate the number, and there's no independent check at the point of sale. We found a 10W COB light claiming 3,000 lumens on Shopee, when a manufacturer that publishes verified specs (SUPERFIRE) rates its own similarly sized 10W panel at 800lm. When a number looks too high for the wattage, it usually is.

Magnetic mount or a hook?

Both, ideally. A magnet sticks the light to any steel surface, a car body, a beam, a toolbox, which covers most garage and repair work. A hook lets it hang where there's no steel to stick to. Lights offering both give you the most places to actually position them hands-free.

Is a power bank feature worth having?

It's a genuine convenience during a brownout, letting the light double as a phone charger. Just remember it draws from the same battery powering your light, so using it heavily will shorten your working time.

Do I need a work light if I already have an emergency light?

They do different jobs. An emergency light stays plugged in and lights a room automatically when power cuts. A work light is portable and aimable, built to light exactly where you're working, under a sink, inside an engine bay, behind furniture. Most homes benefit from having one of each.
