3D SF40CF Cosmo stand fan review: metal where it counts

How much air does it move?

3D publishes 50 m³/min, which is honest of them and also modest. For context, the 65W Asahi PF-631 reaches 71.6 and the 35W Asahi DC-6082 reaches 54.5, so this fan moves less air than a DC inverter that draws less power.

That puts it squarely as a bedroom or small-sala fan. It will cool one or two people comfortably. It will not serve a room with the windows open and people spread around it.

The motor is a 50W AC unit driving a 4-leaf metal blade, with three speeds on a rotary switch, 90-degree oscillation, and 30 degrees of vertical tilt. There is a thermal fuse in the motor.

Fifty watts for 50 m³/min is a fair ratio for an AC fan, better than the 65W fans on efficiency and worse on output. Where it loses badly is against the DC models, which do more with less.

How is the build?

This is what you are actually buying. Metallic chrome safety grills, a chrome inner pipe, and a 4-leaf metal blade, in gun metal or copper. Almost everything else in this price band is painted plastic.

Metal is genuinely tougher: it will not warp, crack, or yellow over a decade the way an AS plastic blade eventually does. It is not quieter, and that is worth saying, because people assume it is. A metal blade behind a metal guard rings if anything works loose, where plastic damps.

At 5.7kg and 44.5 x 40 x 124cm, it is a normal-sized fan with a heavier feel. Cleaning is fiddlier than a plastic grille, since the chrome shows every fingerprint and dust mark.

The omissions are the usual ones at this level: three speeds on a rotary switch, no timer, no remote, no display.

Is this stand fan sulit?

Judged purely on air per peso, no: you can have 71.6 m³/min from the Asahi PF-631 for ₱1,200 less. Judged on build and looks, the case is real, because nothing else here at any price gives you a full metal blade and chrome grills.

Running cost at 50W and eight hours a night is about 12 kWh a month, roughly ₱177 at around ₱14.78 per kWh (Meralco, August 2026), which sits between the 65W AC fans and the 35W DC ones.

The warranty is the weak spot. 3D lists 1 year on parts and labor, against five years on the motor from Asahi, Midea, Hanabishi, and Panasonic. On a fan bought partly for longevity, a one-year cover undercuts the argument.

Who this stand fan suits

Buy this if you want a fan that looks like a design object and is built from metal rather than plastic, for a bedroom or a small sala. It is the right choice for a well-styled room where a white plastic fan would look wrong, and for anyone who has had plastic blades crack on them before. If you want maximum air for the money, or a long motor warranty, this is not the fan.
