How much weight does it hold?

150kg, published by Tolsen. That sounds like a detail until you notice what the alternatives publish: nothing. Two of the five step ladders we compared state no load rating at all, and one calls itself “heavy duty” with no number behind the phrase.

On a ladder, that number is the safety spec. 150kg comfortably covers an adult plus a paint bucket or a toolbag, and Tolsen backs it with an official Philippine site and a dealer network rather than a Shopee shopfront.

Will it fit where you store it?

Probably, and you can check before buying, which is the other thing Tolsen gets right. The 3-step (model 62683) opens to 690 x 470 x 1,030 mm and folds to 470 x 140 x 1,190 mm. That’s a gap about 14cm deep and 1.2m tall: behind a door, beside a fridge, or flat under a bed.

It’s steel, so it’s heavier than an aluminum ladder of the same reach. For a ladder that lives in one house and gets carried between rooms rather than up and down stairs all day, that’s a fair trade at this price.

What’s the catch?

One listing covers 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 steps, so the price you see applies to a single variant. Choose it deliberately: a 6-step is a different ladder at a different price from the 3-step our specs describe.

The other honest gap is certification. Tolsen publishes a load rating but not an EN131 or ANSI grade, so you’re trusting the brand’s own figure. That’s still ahead of the field here, but it isn’t third-party tested.

Is it sulit?
