McDavid 425 Level 2 knee support review: four stays and cross straps

The McDavid 425 is a Level 2 knee support with four spring steel stays and four elastic cross straps, which is about as much side-to-side hold as you get before hinges. At around ₱4,400 it’s a real brace, not a sleeve, and it’s more than most sore knees need.

How much does it actually support?

Four stays, two down each side, resist the knee bending sideways while still letting it bend forward normally. The four elastic crossing straps wrap over the top of that and let you set the compression yourself, which is the part a plain sleeve can’t do. What is it like to wear?
