Why does it win this category?

Because it is the cheapest way to get a major appliance brand and a real service network behind a fan.

Below ₱5,000 the tower fan market is mostly local and unbranded units with thin listings. Haier is one of the largest appliance makers in the world, with an established Philippine operation, an official Shopee store, and a 1-year warranty with somewhere to take a claim.

On a machine that costs under ₱5,000 and runs unattended beside a bed for hours, that backing is worth more than an extra bullet point.

The 15-hour timer is genuinely the longest here, against the 8 to 12 hours most rivals offer. It covers a full night plus the next morning without a reset.

How is it to use?

Straightforward, which is the point at this price.

Three speeds with Normal, Natural and Sleep modes covers what most people actually use. The LED touch panel sits on top, and the 5-metre remote is what makes it usable, because reaching the top of a tall tower every time you want a different speed is exactly what stops people bothering with the timer.

The build is a clean white-and-black tower on a round base, and it looks more expensive than it is.

Where does it lose out?

Two places, and both matter if you compare it against the Xiaomi at nearly the same price.

The 60-degree oscillation is the narrowest in our ranking. For one bed or one sofa it is genuinely fine, arguably better than a wide sweep since the air stays on you. For a sala with people spread around it is not enough. The Xiaomi Smart Tower Fan 2 sweeps 150 degrees for around ₱200 less.

And it publishes no wattage or airflow. This is a standard AC motor, not a DC inverter, so expect roughly 45W to 60W against the Xiaomi’s published 24W. That is our estimate from the motor type rather than a Haier figure, which is itself the problem: on a fan that runs nightly for months, you should not have to guess the running cost.

Across its 1-year warranty, that is roughly ₱13 a day for the covered period; over a more realistic five-year life for a major-brand fan, about ₱78 a month.

The honest tension is that an AC motor costs more to run. If the gap to a DC inverter is 25W and you run the fan 10 hours nightly through a hot season, the Xiaomi claws back part of its price difference in electricity alone, and it costs less to start with.

What Haier gives back is a remote in the box, the longest timer, and a service network. If you have been burned by an appliance nobody could fix, that is a fair reason to pay for the name.

Who the Haier HSF-ED1102 suits

Buy this if you want a simple, brand-backed tower fan for one bedroom with a physical remote and a timer long enough to run all night. It is the right choice for a Filipino household that values after-sales support over spec sheets, and it is the safest sub-₱5,000 buy here.
