Wadfow WHR1609 review: the nosepieces stay on the tool

What makes it the value pick?

A small design decision that most reviews would skip.

The nosepieces store on the tool. Look at the body and you will see the spare nosepieces threaded into it rather than rattling in a plastic bag. That sounds trivial and it is not, because spare nosepieces are the single most commonly lost part of a hand riveter. A tool that ships four loose ones in a bag typically has one left after a year, and then a job needs a size you cannot find.

Beyond that, this covers the same 2.4mm, 3.2mm, 4.0mm and 4.8mm range as the more expensive tools here, in a textured steel body with blue moulded grips, and it does it at close to the cheapest end of the category.

What should you check before ordering?

The length.

Wadfow sells this in 9.5 inch and 10.5 inch versions on the same listing. That is genuinely useful, because the shorter tool fits inside cabinets and ducting where a longer one does not. It is also a trap at checkout, because it is easy to select the wrong one and receive a tool an inch shorter than you expected.

Take 10.5 inch unless you know you work in confined spaces. The extra inch is leverage, and 4.8mm rivets are noticeably easier with it.

The tool has no stem collector, so spent mandrels drop as you work, and no swivel head, so awkward angles mean turning the whole tool.

Is the Wadfow WHR1609 sulit?

This is a few pesos under the Ingco HRS108 for the same four rivet sizes, and it adds the on-body nosepiece storage and a choice of lengths that the Ingco does not offer.

What the Ingco has instead is an owner record several times deeper and a wider Philippine service presence, which is why it takes the top spot. Between them there is genuinely little in it, and if the shorter 9.5 inch option suits your work, this is the better buy of the two.

Who the Wadfow WHR1609 suits

Buy this if you want a solid everyday riveter and you like the idea of never hunting for a lost nosepiece. It is the right choice for a home toolbox, and the 9.5 inch option makes it the better pick for anyone who rivets inside cabinets, ducting or vehicle panels. If you set 6.4mm stainless, look at a 13 inch tool instead.
