Xiaomi Robot Vacuum 5 review: the radar that ducks under furniture

The Xiaomi Robot Vacuum 5 is the most hands-off machine in this list, and the most expensive. Its radar retracts so it can clean under 9.5cm gaps, it pulls 20,000Pa, and it washes its mop pads at 80°C then hot-air dries them. Around ₱30,000.

How well does it clean?

20,000Pa puts it level with the Lefant M3 Max at the top of the suction table. On tile that is more than anyone needs. On rugs and with a long-haired pet it earns its keep.

The genuinely different feature is the dToF retractable radar. Every mapped robot carries a laser turret on its lid, and that turret is what stops it fitting under the sofa, the bed frame, and the TV console, which is exactly where dust piles up untouched for years. This one lowers the radar when it senses a low gap, shrinking its own height enough to clear about 9.5cm and clean under there. No amount of suction substitutes for reaching the dirt.

Obstacle avoidance is S-Cross dual-line structured light, and carpet is spotted by an ultrasonic sensor that lifts the pads 15mm clear of the pile.

What does the dock do?

It washes the mop pads at 80°C and dries them with hot air in about two hours. The high temperature is the point: it dissolves kitchen grease that a warm rinse smears around, and the fast hot-air cycle means the pads are dry, not damp, before the next run. In Philippine humidity, dry pads are what stop a robot mop smelling sour by month three.

The costs are real. 140 minutes of runtime is the shortest among the premium options here, because suction and heated cycles are hungry. The dock is large, and in a condo it is a piece of furniture you have to find a wall for. And repeated high heat is harder on mop pads than the Lefant’s cool-air approach, so expect to replace them a little more often.

Around ₱30,000 as of August 9, 2026. Check the latest price on Shopee. If it runs three years, an assumption rather than a published figure, that is about ₱192 a week. There is no framing that makes this a value pick.

The honest comparison: the Lefant M3 Max also empties itself and washes its mop, runs 80 minutes longer, and costs around ₱11,100 less. What you gain for that money is the retracting radar and hotter washing. If your home has low sofas and bed frames with a permanent grey layer under them, that is worth paying for. If it does not, it is not.
