8 Best dishwashers in the Philippines (2026)

Dishwashers are still uncommon in Filipino kitchens, which means most buyers are making this decision for the first time. Two questions settle it before any spec sheet matters: where will it physically sit, and can you plumb it in?

Countertop or freestanding?

This is the first fork, and it is about your kitchen, not the machine.

A countertop dishwasher sits on the counter like a large microwave. It holds 4 to 8 place settings, costs less, and can often be installed without rebuilding anything. The trade is the counter space it permanently occupies, which in a small Filipino kitchen is the scarcest thing you own.

A freestanding dishwasher stands on the floor, usually in a 45cm or 60cm gap. It holds 9 to 12 place settings, and it needs plumbing plus a spot you have probably already filled with something else.

For most households here, the countertop class is the realistic answer. The exception is a family of five or more, where running a 6-setting machine twice a night defeats the purpose.

Is there a spare tap and drain under your sink?

This question knocks out more buyers than price does, so check it before you shop.

Most dishwashers, countertop and freestanding alike, need a cold water inlet and a drain connection. In practice that means a plumber, a spare tap under the sink, and a landlord’s permission if you rent.

A tank-fill model skips all of it. The Fabriano FDW66GBL carries a 5-liter tank you fill by hand, and it plugs into an ordinary outlet. Nothing gets drilled, nothing gets connected, and you can take it with you when you move.

Six place settings for a small family, 12 for entertaining

A place setting is the European standard for one person’s dishes: dinner plate, soup plate, dessert plate, glass, cup, saucer and cutlery.

Be careful with listings that quote persons rather than place settings. Hanabishi rates its 6-setting machine at “6 to 8 persons”, which is a more generous way of counting the same box.

Check the program list, the spec people underestimate

• Water per cycle. 6.5L to 11L across this category, all of it less than the same load under a running tap.
• Energy per cycle. 0.46 kWh to 0.9 kWh. Cheap to run either way; useful as a comparison point.
• Noise in dB. 47 dB to 51 dB here. Matters if your kitchen opens onto the sala and it runs after dinner.
• The program list. The one people underestimate. Intensive and 70°C cycles are what handle greasy Pinoy cookware; eco and rapid are for lightly soiled plates.
• UV or hot-air sterilizing. Genuinely useful for baby bottles and chopping boards.
• A built-in water softener. Protects the heater from scale, which matters in hard-water areas.

Each cycle uses 6.5 to 11L, less than hand washing

• Place settings. The standard capacity measure. 4 to 6 for a couple or small family, 8 to 9 for a family of four or five, 12 for a household that entertains.
• Countertop or freestanding. Countertop units sit on the counter and cost less. Freestanding units hold more but need floor space and plumbing.
• Plumbing, or a tank. The single biggest practical question. A tank-fill model needs no plumbing at all, which changes everything for renters and condo kitchens.
• Water per cycle. 6.5L to 11L here. All of it less than washing the same load under a running tap.
• Noise in dB. 47 dB to 51 dB in this group. Worth checking for an open-plan kitchen.

The American Heritage AHDW-6256 takes Best Sterilizing for pairing UV light with high-temperature disinfection and hot-air drying, though it quotes its capacity in liters rather than place settings, which makes it hard to compare. The Hanabishi HDISHWASH50SS rounds out the list with a 70°C sterilize cycle and a 360-degree spray system from a long-established Filipino brand, held back by a listing that publishes no performance figures.

Bigger budgets buy capacity; the wash stays the same
