OXO Good Grips 4-cup angled measuring cup review

At around ₱630 as of August 19, 2026, this is the most expensive measuring cup on this page. It is also the only one that gives its capacity as a number of cups.

Four cups is not a fixed volume

Every other jug in this category states millilitres. This one states cups, which means the answer depends on whose cup you use.

A US customary cup is about 237ml, so four is roughly 946ml. The US labelling cup is 240ml, so four is 960ml. A metric cup is 250ml, which would make four a full litre. A Japanese cup is 200ml, which would make it 800ml.

OXO is an American brand, so the sensible reading is around 946 to 960ml rather than a litre. Close enough for stock, and not close enough to treat this as a 1L jug when a recipe asks for one.

It is worth dwelling on because the same ambiguity sits invisibly behind every nested dry cup on this page. None of the eighteen dry sets states a millilitre volume at all, so with those you cannot even work out which standard you have. Here at least the unit is named.

The largest angled cup is where the design works hardest

OXO’s angled scale puts a second set of markings on a sloped inner surface, facing upward, so you read the level looking down from standing rather than crouching to eye level.

A shallow cup is easy to read from the side anyway. A tall one is not, and reading a tall jug from above is exactly where people under-measure without noticing. So the bigger the cup, the more the angle is worth, and this is the biggest.

What the size costs in precision

The usual trade. Volume is read against a line, and in a wide vessel each millimetre of height covers a lot of millilitres, so the bottom of the scale is an estimate.

Fifty millilitres in a four-cup jug is a guess. Use it for stock, brine, batter and drinks, and keep something smaller for the fiddly amounts.

Who should buy the 4-cup OXO

Buy this if you cook in quantity, you want the angled reading where it does the most good, and the price is not the constraint.

Skip it if you mostly measure small amounts, or if you were expecting a round litre.
