The Whirlpool MWX203 BL is the digital half of Whirlpool’s 20L pair: Jet Start, six auto-cook recipes, and a child lock, on an LCD panel with a PH parts-and-service warranty.

How well does it reheat?

700W output in a 20L cavity, which is the standard across this size and reheats a plate of rice and ulam in about two minutes. Nothing separates it from the Condura, Midea, Hanabishi, or Asahi 20L units on raw speed.

The features are where it differs. Jet Start is the one you’ll use most: press it and the oven runs at full power for a short preset time with no time entry at all, and press again to add more. On a rushed morning that’s genuinely quicker than tapping in a duration.

Six auto-cook recipes cover the routine jobs, defrost handles frozen items, and the timer runs to 90 minutes, well past the 30 and 35-minute caps on the dial models. The child lock is a real point of difference from Whirlpool’s own mechanical version.

Is it easy to live with?

The LCD panel is clear and the black finish is conventional rather than flashy. At 45.5cm wide and 35.2cm deep it fits a standard counter without overhang, which is a genuine advantage over the 30L units.

The child lock is the feature worth singling out. If there are young kids at home and the microwave sits at counter height, it stops a curious three-year-old starting a cycle. That’s not a spec-sheet nicety, it’s the reason a lot of families go digital.

If brand confidence and that one-press reheat are what you want, fair enough. If you’re comparing cavity and watts per peso, it doesn’t win.
