What makes it a carpet vacuum?

BLACK+DECKER calls it the 3X cleaning system, and underneath the branding there are two real design choices.

The floorhead is angled to meet multiple surfaces rather than sitting flat, and the brush uses a V-shaped bristle pattern that gathers debris of different sizes toward the centre as it turns. That is a carpet-oriented design: on bare tile a straight brush is fine, but on pile you want bristles that sweep material inward instead of flicking it sideways.

Three speeds back that up, letting you run low on hard floor, medium on area rugs, and full power on carpet. The anti-tangle brush bar is the third piece, and on carpet with pets it is close to essential.

One number is telling, though. BLACK+DECKER says the twist-to-clean filter restores “up to twice the suction,” which is an honest way of saying a clogged filter costs you half of it. That is true of every stick vacuum and rarely admitted.

How is it to live with?

The twist-to-clean filter is a genuine convenience. Clearing a filter by twisting a knob rather than pulling it out, washing it, and waiting a day for it to dry is the difference between doing it and not doing it.

The front-facing dustbin gives quick access when emptying and lets the vacuum lie flat to reach under furniture. The trade is that a front-facing bin needs the vacuum tipped to empty cleanly, which is fiddlier than a bottom-release cup.

It converts to a handheld for stairs and upholstery.

Spread across the 1-year warranty stated on the listing, ₱10,600 is about ₱29 a day, which is the least flattering way to read it and the one worth acknowledging. The battery system is what argues for a longer real life than that.
