Dreame V20 review: 160AW in a 1.6kg body

The Dreame V20 is our Best ultra-light pick: 160AW and a 60-minute runtime at only 1.6kg, with green light dust detection, at around ₱13,000.

Why weight matters more than people expect

1.6kg puts this level with the flagship V50 Pro and the much weaker Panasonic, and ahead of most of the mid-range.

On a stick vacuum, the effort is not pushing, it is holding. Floors are the easy part. What tires your arm is the ceiling fan, the cornice, the top of the aparador, and the corners where dust actually accumulates in a Philippine house. A vacuum you can hold above your head for two minutes gets used for those jobs. A heavier one gets used on floors only.

So a 160AW machine at 1.6kg is a genuinely useful combination: enough suction for hard floors and rugs, light enough to point upward.

Within Dreame’s own range, 160AW sits above the V10S (155AW) and the R10 (120AW), and below the V50 Pro (220AW).

Sixty minutes of runtime covers a whole house on the standard setting, with the usual caveat that max mode drains much faster.

The green light detection does the same job as on the rest of the Dreame range: it makes fine dust visible on tile and wood, and does nothing on carpet.

What is missing from the spec sheet?

More than there should be at this price. Dreame publishes no bin capacity and no filtration rating for the V20 in the Philippine market.

Both matter. Bin capacity decides whether a 60-minute session means emptying mid-clean, and at this money the Lotus X30 PRO publishes a 500ml bin. Filtration rating decides whether the vacuum is suitable for an allergy sufferer, and the Lotus publishes a graded H13 HEPA element while Dreame’s other models at least quote a 99.9% figure.

We would rather flag the gap than fill it with numbers borrowed from a sibling model.

This is the awkward middle of Dreame’s range, and the comparisons squeeze it from both sides.

Below it, the V10S at around ₱9,000 gives up 5AW and the weight figure, and adds a carbon fiber wand, green laser detection, and a 2-year warranty, for ₱4,000 less. Above it, the V16 Pro at around ₱18,000 adds 27,000Pa and 25 more minutes of runtime.

What the V20 uniquely offers is 160AW at a published 1.6kg, and if above-floor cleaning is a real part of your routine that combination is worth something. But it is a narrow argument, and the missing bin and filtration specs make it narrower.

The 5.0 rating rests on 9 raters against 11 units sold, which is far too small a sample to read anything into.

Who this cordless vacuum suits

Buy this if you do a lot of above-floor cleaning, want more than 155AW while doing it, and the price gap to the V10S has closed on the day you shop. It is a reasonable choice for a home with high ceilings, ceiling fans, and tall storage. If you are buying at list price, the V10S gives you nearly the same suction, a longer warranty, and ₱4,000 back.
