What does the control setup give you?

The thing you actually want from an outdoor light: it manages itself.

Automatic dusk-to-dawn switching means the lamp reads ambient light and turns on at sunset and off at sunrise. There is no timer to program and no schedule to correct as sunset drifts through the year. Mount it, and it does the right thing every night without being told.

Here is where we have to be straight. At this exact price sit two very similar lamps: the OOKAS IP67 sensor model at around ₱619 and the ICON sensor flood at around ₱578. All three publish nothing. The differences that remain are the rating and what is in the box.

Gold Star’s rating is 4.5, the lowest of the fourteen solar lamps we ranked, against 4.6 for both rivals and 4.7 to 4.9 for everything else.
