Why buy a long-arm riveter?
Because leverage is what makes riveting easy rather than merely possible.
A 10.5 inch riveter sets a 4.8mm aluminium rivet in one firm squeeze, and after twenty of them your hand knows about it. A 420mm two-handed lever turns that same rivet into something you barely notice, because you are pulling with your shoulders and back rather than with your grip alone.
Rated for steel as well as aluminium rivets is the other thing worth noting. Several cheaper tools here, including the Tolsen 43001, publish an aluminium-only rating. Steel rivets at the same diameter are harder to set, and this tool is specified for them.
Wadfow also puts rubber grips on it, which matters once you are pulling with both hands.
What does it cost you in practice?
Two things, both structural.
It starts at 3.2mm. The nose and jaws are sized for the larger end, so the small 2.4mm rivets that a 10.5 inch tool sets are outside its range. That makes this a second riveter rather than a complete one for most people.
It needs both hands, which means nothing is holding the workpiece. On a bench with a vice that is fine. Freehand, on a gutter you are also trying to line up, it is a genuine problem, and you will want a clamp or a second person.
At 420mm it also needs clearance on both sides of the joint, and it does not fold for storage the way the Tolsen 43100 does.

It is the right choice as a second riveter alongside a 10.5 inch one. If you need 2.4mm rivets, or you work in tight spaces, this is not the tool.
