PetYum Nature Nibbles 1kg dry cat food review

At around ₱165 as of August 1, 2026 for 1kg, which is the middle of the kibble field here. The freeze-dried pieces are the reason to look at it, and there is one thing missing from the listing.

Freeze-drying is about smell, not nutrition

Drying meat with heat drives off the volatile compounds that make it smell like food. Freeze-drying pulls the water out at low temperature instead, and far more of the aroma survives.

That is the whole mechanism. Cats decide what to eat largely by smell, so scattering strongly scented pieces through ordinary kibble is a direct answer to a cat that sniffs the bowl and walks off.

Judge the bag on that. It is a palatability product, and a well-reasoned one, rather than a nutritional upgrade you could measure.

The gap in the listing

No life stage is stated. Not adult, not kitten, not all stages.

That is a real omission rather than a technicality. A kitten needs more protein and more calories for each kilo it weighs than an adult does, and feeding it an adult maintenance food through its first year is the mistake that shows up later.
