Two scales, fifty pesos apart

The Gaabor LED body scale is around ₱299 on the same date. Both are digital body weight scales from the same brand.

Neither publishes a resolution, a maximum capacity or a platform size. So what is visible from the listings is the colour, the display description and fifty pesos.

That makes this a decision about which one you would rather look at, which is not a bad basis for a bathroom scale and is worth recognising for what it is. If the build or the display genuinely differs, the photographs are the only evidence available.

Weight only, which is the measurement that is real

Listed as a body weight scale rather than a body-composition one.

Composition figures on any consumer scale come from a single extra reading: a small current passed foot to foot, with resistance used to estimate fat and muscle. That path never crosses the torso, and the number moves with how hydrated you are, so a salty dinner shifts it without any change in your body.

A weight-only scale gives up an estimate and keeps the measurement. Load cells are mature and accurate, which is why weight is reliable at every price in this category.

The two habits that beat any upgrade

Put it on a hard, level floor and leave it there. Tiles, not a bath mat. A platform that can flex reads differently, and weighing on one surface and then another is the commonest reason people decide a scale is inaccurate.

Weigh at the same time under the same conditions. First thing in the morning, after the bathroom, before eating or drinking. Daily weight swings a kilo or more from food, water and salt, so a single reading tells you very little and a month of readings tells you a lot.

Those two do more for the usefulness of any scale than the difference between any two products on this page.
