Lotus LTHT300HRX Pro review: rated for steel rivets too

The Lotus LTHT300HRX Pro is a steel riveter with comfort grip handles, rated for aluminium and steel rivet fastening, at around ₱344.

What is good about it?

Two things, and the second is more important than it looks.

It is rated for steel rivets, not just aluminium. That distinction gets glossed over constantly in this category, and it matters. A steel rivet at 4.8mm is meaningfully harder to set than an aluminium one at the same diameter, and several cheaper tools here, including the Tolsen 43001, publish an aluminium-only rating. If the rivets in your drawer are steel, buying a tool rated only for aluminium means hard work at the top of its range and faster wear.

The comfort grip handles are the other. Lotus fits shaped grips rather than the plain moulded plastic on their basic line, and that is what you feel after a run of rivets rather than after one.

It sits in Lotus’s Pro range, a step above their LHR riveters, and Lotus tools are on hardware shelves across the country, so replacing one or finding a spare nozzle is a walk rather than a wait.

Where does it lose ground?

On the one thing this category should always publish.

Lotus does not state a rivet size range for the LTHT300HRX. Not in millimetres, not in inches, not anywhere we could check. Their own LHR708 and LHR709 list four nozzle sizes plainly, so this is an omission rather than a house style.

On a tool at ₱344, that means you are buying on brand and on the words “aluminium and steel rivet fastening” rather than on a chart. For a household buyer replacing gutter rivets, that is a real inconvenience.

It also has no swivel head, no stem collector and no quick-change nose, and being steel it carries more weight than an aluminium alloy body of the same size.

That is above the Lotus LHR708 at around ₱260, which publishes its four sizes, and well above the Ingco HRS108 at around ₱216, which publishes its four sizes and has by far the deepest owner record here.

The steel-rivet rating is a genuine advantage over some cheaper tools. Whether it is worth the difference depends on whether you actually use steel rivets, and on how comfortable you are buying a tool whose size range you cannot look up first.

Who this hand riveter suits

Buy this if you work with steel rivets as well as aluminium, you like Lotus for their availability in local hardware shops, and grip comfort matters to you over a long session. It is the right choice for someone already committed to the brand. If you want to know the rivet sizes before you spend, buy the LHR709 from the same range or the Ingco HRS108.
