Why would you want 32 inches of riveter?
Because leverage is the whole physics of this tool, and 32 inches is a lot of it.
Setting a blind rivet means pulling the mandrel until it snaps. The longer the arm, the less force your hand has to supply. A 10.5 inch tool makes 4.8mm comfortable. A 13 inch tool makes 6mm possible. A 32 inch tool makes large rivets easy, and more to the point, it makes a hundred of them in a day something your hands survive.
Tolsen claims over 20 percent labour saving in the design, which is the kind of figure that only matters on volume work. On volume work it matters a lot.
And it folds. That is the actual innovation here. A fixed 32 inch riveter is a nuisance to store and impossible to carry. Folding it down means you get the leverage of a bench tool in something that goes in a bag.
How well is the working end built?

Three alloy steel jaws hardened to HRC 58 to 62. That is a real hardness figure, in the range used for good chisels, and the jaws are the part that decides how long a riveter stays accurate. Soft jaws round off and start slipping on the mandrel, which is how cheap riveters die. Publishing a hardness number at all is unusual.
A 9mm maximum working stroke, adjustable. Stroke is how much mandrel the tool pulls per squeeze, so a longer stroke means fewer squeezes per rivet, and adjustability lets you tune it to the job.
The body is powder coated aluminium alloy, which keeps a 32 inch tool from being unmanageably heavy.
The gap is real though: Tolsen does not publish a rivet size range for this model. On a tool this well specified elsewhere, that omission is odd, and it means asking the seller before buying rivets.

It is the right choice for fabricators and installers doing repetitive riveting, and the folding arm is what makes it practical rather than a bench-only tool. If you rivet occasionally, or work in confined spaces, this is entirely the wrong tool and a 10.5 inch riveter is the right one.
