Ingco HR131 review: 13 inches that reach 6.4mm

The Ingco HR131 is our Best long reach hand riveter: 13 inches, setting aluminium and steel rivets up to 6.4mm and stainless up to 6.0mm, at around ₱857.

What does the extra length actually enable?

The big rivets, which are the ones a normal tool simply cannot pull.

Ingco publishes the range properly, as two charts:

• Aluminium and steel: 3.2mm, 4.0mm, 4.8mm, 6.0mm, 6.4mm
• Stainless steel: 3.2mm, 4.0mm, 4.8mm, 6.0mm

Setting a 6mm rivet means pulling the mandrel hard enough to snap it, and that takes more force than a 10.5 inch tool can multiply from a normal grip. Thirteen inches of arm is the mechanism, not a marketing choice.

That opens up real sheet-metal work: heavier gutters, structural brackets, trailer and body panels, and anything where a 4.8mm rivet is not enough to hold.

What does it give up?

The small end, and access.

It starts at 3.2mm. The 2.4mm rivets that a 10.5 inch tool sets are outside its range, because the nose and jaws are sized for the larger end. That is normal for a heavy duty riveter, and it is the strongest argument for owning a shorter tool alongside it rather than treating this as your only one.

Thirteen inches will not fit inside a kitchen cabinet, along a narrow duct, or into a wheel arch. Those are exactly the awkward places household riveting tends to happen.

It is also heavier to carry and to hold at arm length, which tells over a long overhead session.

Is the Ingco hand riveter sulit?

That is about four times the Ingco HRS108, which covers 2.4mm to 4.8mm and fits far more places. As a general household purchase, that is poor value and we would not recommend it.

As a second tool for someone who genuinely works at 6mm, it is fair. The comparison to weigh is against the Tolsen 43096 at around ₱920: the Tolsen reaches 6.4mm in stainless and starts at 2.4mm, where this reaches 6.4mm only in aluminium and steel and starts at 3.2mm. On range alone the Tolsen is the more capable tool. On parts availability and service presence in the Philippines, Ingco is the stronger brand.

Who the Ingco hand riveter suits

Buy this if 6mm rivets in aluminium or steel are part of your work and you are already invested in Ingco tools. It is the right choice as a second riveter alongside a 10.5 inch one, not as a replacement for it. If stainless at 6.4mm is what you need, the Tolsen 43096 covers that and the small sizes too.

If the Ingco hand riveter is not right
