10 Best electric kettles in the Philippines (2026)

An electric kettle is the cheapest appliance in the kitchen that you use every single day. Which is why it is worth spending ten minutes on, and why the wrong one annoys you for years.

Split by what the kettle is for

We started from the electric kettles actually selling on Shopee PH, then split them by what they are for: general household boiling on one side, gooseneck coffee kettles on the other. Both are in this list, judged against their own job.

From there we ranked on four things:

• Published wattage and build. Brands that state watts, capacity, and what the inner pot is made of rank above ones that state nothing. Three listings here publish almost no specs, and we say so in their reviews rather than guessing.
• Safety design. A named cutout like Strix, boil-dry protection, a cool-touch body, a lid that will not spill if the kettle goes over.
• Real owner ratings, weighted by how many people rated the listing. A 4.9 from 582 raters tells you more than a 5.0 from two.
• Who is behind it. A brand’s own store beats a marketplace reseller when the element fails in month eight.

Two BINCOO coffee kettles are in our catalog but not in this ranking. Both publish no wattage and no temperature range, and both have two owner ratings, which is not enough to rank on.

Does a faster 2200W kettle use more electricity?

Wattage decides how long you stand there waiting. Everything sold here sits between 1500W and 2200W.

• 2200W is the fast end. A full 1.7L boils in roughly two-thirds the time a 1500W kettle takes.
• 1900W to 2000W is the comfortable middle, and where most mid-priced kettles land.
• 1500W is noticeably slower on a full load, though fine if you rarely fill it.

One myth worth killing: a higher-wattage kettle does not use more electricity to boil the same water. Heating a litre takes the same energy either way; the faster kettle simply draws it over a shorter time. Meralco charges by the kilowatt-hour, not by the watt, so the fast kettle costs the same and gives you the time back.

How fast can a 1.0L kettle make one cup?

Match it to how you actually drink, not to the biggest number on the shelf.

• 1.7L fills about seven cups. Right for a family, a household with visitors, or an office.
• 1.2L suits a couple.
• 1.0L is right when the kettle mostly makes one drink at a time, and it has a real advantage: less water means a much faster single cup. A 1.0L kettle can have hot water ready in about a minute.

A 1.7L kettle that you fill a quarter full every morning is not serving you better than a small one. It is just larger on the counter.

Green tea wants 80°C, 3-in-1 coffee a full boil

This is the question that decides whether you should spend ₱2,000 or ₱8,000, so answer it honestly.

You need it if you drink real tea or brew coffee. Boiling water scorches delicate leaves and grounds:

• 80°C for green and white tea, which turn bitter at boiling point
• 85°C for oolong and delicate black teas
• 90°C to 96°C for pour-over coffee

You do not need it for 3-in-1 coffee, instant noodles, or hot water for a feeding bottle. Those all want water as hot as it gets. If that is your kitchen, presets are a feature you will never press.

There is a middle option: kettles with a handful of preset buttons rather than stepless control, which cost far less than the precision coffee kettles and cover the temperatures most people want.

What about gooseneck coffee kettles?

They are a different tool, and worth understanding before you spend.

A gooseneck kettle is for pour-over coffee. The narrow curved spout pours a thin, vertical, controllable stream, which is what lets you wet a coffee bed evenly rather than blasting a hole in it. They typically hold 800ml to 1L, hold a set temperature to within a degree or better, and cost several times what a household kettle does.

What they are not is a household kettle. 900ml will not make a family round of coffee, and pouring 1.7L of noodle water through a thin spout is slow work. If you brew pour-over, buy one as a second kettle, not as your only one.

A double wall is the safety upgrade to pay for

Three, and one of them is underrated.

A double wall. A single-wall stainless kettle reaches near-boiling on its outside surface, at counter height, in a house that may well have small children. A double wall traps an air gap so the outside stays touchable. It also holds the water hot longer. This is the single upgrade most worth paying for.

A named safety cutout. When a listing names Strix, it is telling you the thermostat is a known component that cuts power at boil, when run dry, and when lifted off the base. A listing that names nothing is asking you to trust an unnamed part.

Boil-dry protection, so switching on an empty kettle turns it off instead of destroying the element or worse.

Worth adding: a lid and spout designed against spills. Zojirushi builds a dispense lock into its kettles for exactly this reason, which is a real consideration with toddlers around.

• Wattage decides how long you wait. 2200W is the fast end, 1500W the slow one.
• Capacity should match your household. 1.7L for a family, 1.0L to 1.2L for one or two people.
• A double wall keeps the outside cool and the water hot. It is the main safety upgrade.
• Temperature presets matter for tea and coffee, and are wasted money for instant coffee and noodles.
• A named safety cutout (Strix) and boil-dry protection are what stop a dry kettle becoming a fire.

Spend less again and the Xiaomi glass kettle matches the wattage for a third of the money, as long as you accept glass.
